Hovione Inaugurates New Facility in New Jersey

Congratulations to our Sustaining Member Hovione on the inauguration of its new facility in New Jersey.

The state-of-the-art facility represents a $100 million investment in a site expansion that doubles Hovione's U.S. spray drying capacity - a specialized technology that turns poorly soluble drug ingredients into more bioavailable forms, addressing a formulation challenge faced by roughly 70% of small-molecule drug candidates in development.

The investment marks more than two decades of growth for this Portuguese company in the United States, and signals continued expansion in the years ahead, with plans for further facilities on adjacent land at this campus.

The Portugal-US Chamber of Commerce was proud to be on-site for the celebration, represented by our President, Rodrigo Carvalho.
